We'll display clicks, sign-ups, conversions and earnings separately for each referral product or service and will report your referral statistics in the following manner:

Clicks: We'll report a click every time a user clicks on one of your referral buttons for any product.

Sign-ups: A sign-up will be displayed every time a user signs up for AdSense. Some products, like Firefox, do not require a sign-up and therefore will not report sign-ups.

Conversions: Each product you refer will show conversion statistics. A conversion displayed in your reports indicates that you've reached the threshold necessary to receive earnings for that referral. For example, we'll show a conversion each time a user you've referred downloads and runs Firefox, or when a publisher you've referred first earns US $100 from AdSense.

Earnings: As with your other AdSense reports, the earnings we'll display are your revenue for referrals, separated by product.

How much can i earn from referrals?

Your earnings for referrals will vary depending on the product you're referring.

AdSense: When a user you've referred to AdSense first earns US$100 within 180 days, we'll credit your AdSense account with US$100.

Firefox plus Google Toolbar: When a user you've referred to Firefox plus Google Toolbar runs Firefox for the first time, you'll receive up to US$1 in your account, depending on the user's location. You can then upgrade your blog to the new template in minutes.)

2. Next you should be taken to your Template – Page Elements page. PPC ads are self explanatory. If a viewers clicks, you get paid. However, CPM ads are a little different and its something that Yahoo Publisher Network doesn’t offer on their program. In a nutshell, you are paid money for displaying CPM ads on your site. You are paid by how many times the advertisement is viewed or displayed on your site… Not by how many times it was clicked. This is very useful for publishers that have sites with moderate to heavy traffic as every time someone visits your site and a CPM ad is displayed, you generate a little bit of additional money, where as if you run YPN ads on your site… this is money that would be missed.

Wide Selection of Advertisements: There is a huge selection of different size ads you can use with Google Adsense. I can’t fail to mention also that you have many different choices, including deciding whether to display image ads or text ads, or both! YPN doesn’t give you the option to control text or image ads being displayed and appear on your site randomly. Having the ability to create such well thought out custom advertisements gives you a higher chance of success with the advertisement serving program. Google Adsense considers this and gives you all the tools needed towards creating effective advertisements on your site.

Advanced Analysis and Reporting: While YPN also provides some tools for analysis, Google Adsense has them beat by a long shot. If you spend about an hour learning how to utilize the analysis and reporting tools provided by Google Adsense, you will know precisely which ads on your site are the most attractive, which ones pay the best, and which ones are not effective at all. Google Adsense gives you the ability to totally micro-manage the ads being displayed on your site, and if you are a picky bean counter like myself, this should prove to be very useful to you.

Yahoo Publisher Network :

YPN is the only program that I have gotten paid. I have used both programs on BTI in the past and in the past three months of using YPN, I have received two $125 dollar payments. I am very pleased and totally thrilled to receive these payments. Just a few days ago I did make the switch back to Google Adsense. I do intend on using YPN again in the very near future, but at this time I want to experiment again with Adsense.

Why Do I Like Yahoo Publisher Network? For me, using YPN was great when BTI was only getting a few hundred visits each day. To me, it was a balancing act. As it seems, YPN pays more per click compared to Google Adsense. Sites with very little to somewhat moderate amounts of traffic, can benefit more from using YPN instead of Adsense for the fact that their PPC pays higher. This is great for people that are just starting their site and still want to make a little money to help lighten the expense of blogging, hosting, etc…

Succeeding Tips With Adsense

Here are some tips for achieving success with Adsense.
1. Create a website with your (YourSite.com). Don’t try to use a free web host because your site will likely have banners and pop-ups and get rejected because it looks unprofessional. Not to mention, a free web host will give you a website address like this example :

http://YOURSITE.megaforumup.com
instead of…
http://www.YOURSITE.com

See how much more clean, concise and professional that last link is?
If paying for a website causes you to frown, remember the money you earn from Adsense could more than pay for the web hosting fees you’ll incur.

Look at it as an investment instead of a cost. I never dreamed I’d have this much success with this program. My Adsense earnings clearly outweigh the few dollars I pay every month to maintain my sites.

2. If you don’t know web programming or have no desire to learn it, get a beginner’s design editor like Microsoft FrontPage. Using this program is a lot like using Microsoft Word. You can also publish your content directly to the web.

Keep in mind you can’t use FrontPage alone. You must have a web host that will allow you to publish your site to the Internet via FrontPage. (More on web hosting in a sec.)

3. If the main goal of your site is to make money with Adsense, be sure to choose a topic that you know a lot about so you can write lots and lots of content.

Don’t like to write? No problem! There are sites like www.articlecity.com that provide free reprint rights. Just search their database and find articles that match the theme of your site.

Don’t rely completely on sites like this, however. You’ll definitely want to have some of your own unique content. A few articles from these sites is fine, but relying on them for 90% of your information is not going to help your site.

4. Get traffic. Once your site is up and running you’ll need to learn how to get your site listed in the major search engines.

Getting into Google is completely free right now and can bring in hundreds or even thousands of visitors per day. All you have to do is submit your site to them and wait patiently while Google ads it to the index. It can take a few months. Patience is key with Google. Then do the same with Yahoo, MSN, etc.

5. Partner up with other related sites and participate in link swaps. This means that you place a link to another person’s site on your own site and they do the same for you in return. This is a great way to get even more free traffic.

4 Most Profitable Keywords inside AdSense system

"Expensive keyword" (high CPC) isn't equal to "profitable keyword" (high earnings) due to the low volume of traffic expensive (niche) keywords produce. The best way to find really profitable keywords is to rank keywords by cost/day (cost per click X clicks/day) rather than cost per click.

Almost all AdSense publishers are looking for the most expensive keywords. Let's have a look at the top 100 most expensive keywords. But first let's add 2 extra columns to the list: clicks/day and cost/day by Google AdWords estimation:

selling structured settlements
cash for structured settlements
auto insurance quotes florida
california auto insurance quotes

Have you noticed that keyword price result in ZERO profit if there are no clicks? It's cost/day (keyword price X clicks/day) that makes you rich, not keyword price itself.

Now let's look at the list of the most PROFITABLE, not the most expensive AdSense keywords! Do you want to earn more with AdSense? You have two ways of doing it:

1. Increase the number of clicks, and/or

2. Increase the average price per click

Your earnings will only go up if you do one or the other, and ideally both. It's an obvious formula, yes, but it's amazing how many people lose sight of it in their quest for increased AdSense earnings.

Increasing the Number of AdSense Clicks

Increasing the number of times the ads on your site or blog are clicked is the most obvious strategy. There are two general strategies you can follow:

1. Increase the traffic to the site, and/or

2. Adjust the ads to make them more "clickable"

Getting traffic is hard and takes time, so don't look at it as a quick fix. The best way to get traffic is to provide useful, unique content and to rank highly in search engine rankings for keywords related to that content. In other words, use standard search engine optimization techniques. DO NOT "buy" traffic or use "link farms" or other dubious techniques. Other tips for getting traffic:

1. Publish articles, even free ones, with links back to your site.

2. Include a link to your site in the signature at the bottom of your emails or in any forum postings you make (if the forum allows it).

3. Participate in forums/groups related to the content of your site or blog. The key is to participate, not lurk, and don't just post messages promoting your site.

4. Add comments (relevant ones only, please) to other blogs, you can usually link back to yours. (This won't help your search engine rankings, but it may allow others who are reading those comments to find your own site.)

5. Syndicate your content (trivial if you have a blog) and make sure that the content is registered with syndication aggregators.

6. List your site in relevant directories.

Adjusting the ads is something you can do almost immediately:

1. Position the ads on the page in order to make them more noticeable. Google even publishes a helpful heat map (see https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html ) for AdSense publishers.

2. Choose the best AdSense ad format that works for your site.

3. Change the ad colors either to make the ads blend in with your site or to make them stand out. Again, it varies depending on the site.

Whatever you do, DO NOT ENTICE VISITORS TO CLICK THE ADS. Google is very strict about this, see the AdSense program policies (found at https://www.google.com/adsense/policies ) for the details.

Increasing the Average AdSense Price Per Click

Increasing the average price per click you receive from AdSense is the other strategy for increasing your overall AdSense earnings. You can do this by:

1. Carefully targeting your content, and/or

2. Filtering out and avoiding low-paying ads

Content targeting isn't just about creating relevant, unique content. It's also making sure that that content is written to target the higher-paying keywords associated with a given topic. This means:

1. Figuring out which keyword variations for that topic pay more. Often the more specialized variations and phrases pay more than the "generic" terms.

2. Ensuring that the keyword density of the content favors the higher-paying keyword variations. See http://www.MakeEasyMoneyWithGoogle.com/vioxx-lawsuit.html for an example of well-targeted ads due to appropriate keyword density.

And to reduce the occurrence of lower-paying ads, consider these two strategies:

1. Use AdSense's competitive filter mechanism to screen out the ads that you don't want.

2. Show fewer ads on a page. The fewer ads you show, the more the higher-paying ads get displayed and clicked.

Many publishers also report that their earnings increase if they remove ads completely from pages with few or no clicks. Again, the "less is more" strategy favors the higher-paying ads.

There's No Magic

As you can see, there's no magic involved to increasing your AdSense earnings. The Fundamental AdSense Formula is easy to understand, but that doesn't mean it's easy to apply the formula. It takes time and effort to do it, just like most things.

Copyright 2005 by Eric Giguere. Arbitrage publishers were rocked a couple of months back when changes were made to AdWords that made it more expensive to send readers to landing pages in the hope of getting them to click AdSense ads that earned more than the AdWords ads that got them there. It’s no wonder that people are complaining about AdSense as a way to Monetize Arbitrage with the changes that were made.

However if you’re not into Arbitrage and are a publisher who develops quality sites that grow a natural readership via SE traffic or loyal readers then I think AdSense is still a great way to go - particularly if you have a blog with some commercial edge to it (ie AdSense doesn’t tend to work well on religious, political or personal sites).

AdSense Alternatives

The last 12 months have seen a lot more competition for AdSense. I have noticed a slight drop off in bloggers raving about AdSense partly because they’re now raving about other ad systems.

In my chats with bloggers I’m seeing a number of other income streams mentioned again and again. Here’s a few:

1. Text Link Ads (aff) - the team at TLA have gradually built a loyal publisher list over the past few months but providing an ad system that may not be as flashy or spectacular as AdSense in some senses but which works. Interestingly - I’ve chatted with a number of smaller bloggers over the past few weeks who say that TLA actually is their biggest earner. This is because it is not reliant upon clicks or traffic at all and is a very passive income for a blog that over time grows as more advertisers buy links. I spoke to an owner of a lesser known blog network recently and he told me that his network is earning five figures a month with TLA.

2. Amazon Associates - some publishers laugh off Amazon as not being worth the effort because the payouts are so small (4-6% in post cases) but I’ve chatted with a few publishers this week who are doing very well from Amazon. The advantage of Amazon over many affiliate programs is that they are a trusted brand. If you pick the right products to promote you can actually do quite well from them. I chatted with a publisher this week who is promoting lawn mowers and power tools on Amazon. Sell a $2000 tractor/mower a few times a week and it certainly adds up.

3. Clicksor (aff) - as unpopular as they became with some publishers in their early days of launching they continue to be a big earner for some bloggers. They continue to be neck and neck with AdSense for me in the earnings they bring in. They continue to improve their products and expand what they offer in terms of channels and I know of a few product oriented bloggers who make more from them than anything else. Can’t say too much but expect their range of advertising methods to continue to increase in the coming months.

4. YPN - Yahoo’s contextual advertising system is still in beta (it has been a longer process than many expected) and is yet to fully compete with AdSense. I’ve given it a go (via b5’s account) and wasn’t too impressed with how it converted here at ProBlogger but do know of some bloggers who continue to find that it does well for them. I think it’s a blog by blog proposition but is definitely an ad network to consider if you can get into the beta test.

5. Direct Sales - another emerging trend among bloggers (and networks of them) is the increased focus upon direct deals that are being done between bloggers and sellers (and their representatives).Willing to do deals as the word gets out that blogs are online real estate that converts pretty well for them. It’s not always easy to negotiate these deals as a single blogger with a relatively small readership but we’re now seeing networks of bloggers banding together which makes it much easier to negotiate such deals.

6. Product Bloggers - while there are not a lot of examples of this yet I suspect that 2007 will be a year that quite a few bloggers will launch products in their niches. Bloggers are starting to switch onto the fact that after a year or two of blogging on a topic that they are sitting upon a goldmine of information and expertise that can be reused in other forums. While this past year saw a number of bloggers release books I know of quite a few who are working up to releasing online information products, membership sites and coaching services in their areas of expertise. Whether they succeed or not is yet to be seen but it’s a logical next step for many bloggers.

Of course there are many other AdSense Alternatives out there for publishers also (with more coming I’m told). The variety of systems open to publishers surely is having some impact upon AdSense and what people are earning with it.

What do you think? Is AdSense dead? What has your experience of AdSense (and other ad systems) been over the past 6 or so months? Are you finding it easier or more difficult to earn money from your blogging?

If you enjoyed this post Subscribe to the Free AdsenseTruths Newsletter

Article Source: problogger.net

AdSense Trackers

AdLogger - an open source Adsense tracker designed for web publishers and website owners.

Adsense Alert - desktop client monitors your adsense earnings.

Adsense earnings RSS feed - a simple script that will create an RSS feed with your daily Adsense earnings to track via your regular feed reader.

Adsense Gold Tracker - tracks clicks from Google adsense and Yahoo publisher network ads

Adsense Notifier - Firefox extension that displays your Adsense earnings on the Firefox statusbar.

Adsense Status - GoogleDesktop plugin to View earnings information from your Google Adsense account in the Google Desktop sidebar. Whenever you write an article, check whether you have written similar articles. If so link to them. This is helpful for new readers as well as it is not necessary that all your readers have been with you from the beginning. But remember that too much interlinking can get your readers distracted from the orginal post.

Highlight Related Posts

For WordPress users there is a plugin called Related Posts that can automatically find related posts for you based on the keywords you used in the article. You can do this manually if you want, but I prefer the plugin as it is a lot easier. There may be a similar plugin for other Blog Platforms, but I am not sure about it.

It is best that you place 5 related posts just after the post ends. You can find more useful WordPress Plugins here.

Add a Newsletter or Post Notification Services

Services such Zookoda and FeedBurner can be used to notify readers of new posts via email thereby increasing page views. I think that notifying new posts through emails are more effective than feeds as people check their mails many times a day.

Highlight Key Posts in Prominent Positions

You may have noticed that my header links to some of the important articles of johntp.com. When visitors reach this blog there’s a high chance that they will notice these links and click them. My header links has helped me almost double my pageviews.

‘Best of’ Pages

I have collected some of the best articles and put them on a separate page called Top Posts. This not only helps to increase pageviews but also helps in converting casual surfers to regular readers.

I also use a WordPress Plugin called ‘Noteworthy‘ with which I mark some of the interesting articles. The plugin automatically puts the marked posts to a category which I named ‘Must Read‘. This can also help in increasing the pageviews of those posts. In short highlight your top posts in all ways possible.

Write a Series of Posts

A series of posts on a topic can drive readers from the first part to the last thereby increasing pageviews. Readers will also return often to read what you have to say on the next part.

Although I suggest you don’t break every article into a series of posts as it may irritate some readers.

Use Extended Entires on your Front Page

For WordPress users there is a ‘more’ feature that breaks long posts with a ‘more…’ or ‘Continue reading post name‘ that links to the complete post. This can help in increasing pageviews but you must use it only for long posts as it can get annoying for certain readers when used too much.

Run a Blog Project or Meme

Group writing projects can get you new links and readers aswell as visitors who come back multiple times in a week to see what updates there had been to it. Projects or competitions works best if you have a lot of loyal readers willing to participate.

Excerpts in RSS feeds

If you use Full Feeds, your readers are likely to read your content through feeds and never return to your blog. To increase page views you may switch to Partial Feeds.

Here at johntp.com, after switching to partial feeds I have found an increase in the number of people coming back and an unexpected increase in RSS readers.

Entice RSS Readers to Visit

If you decide to use Full feeds, you need to find ways to get your subscribers to visit your blog. Darren suggests methods such as Polls, writing posts in a way that invites comments and interlinking posts.

Build Interactivity into your Blog

The more your readers interact on your blog the more pages they view. Comments and polls are a good way to interact with readers.

You can encourage comments by asking question or opinions at the end of evey post. If a reader leaves a comment or takes part in a poll they are likely to come back again to see if there are any replies to their comments or to find out the result of the poll. Building an interactive blog can increase your pageviews a lot.

Draw People Back to Comments

For WordPress users there are a few plugins that help you make your blog more interactive regarding comments. First is a plugin called Brian’s Latest Comments that shows an overview of the recently active articles and the last people to comment on them.

You can also give your readers the opportunity to follow your comments either by having a RSS feed for comments on your blog or by allowing them to subscribe to comments via email with Subscribe To Comments WordPress Plugin.

You can encourage your readers to comment more often by listing the Top 10 Commentators of your blog and linking directly to their blogs. You can do this automatically with the Top Commentators Wordpress Plugin.

You can see all these plugins in action on my blog and find more here.

Add a Search Feature

Adding a Search feature to your blog allows your readers to search for previous posts thereby increasing pageviews. Your theme may already be having it by default.

Give Your Readers a Homework Assignment

I have not yet tried this method and so can’t comment on it. I am not even sure if it will work for my kind of blog. This method has more chance of working on blogs like Darren’s Photography Blog.

Article Source: http://wisdom-of-adsense.org

Top 10 Ways without Creating Own Site to Earn from Google Adsense

List of websites where you can display your Google AdSense ads
If you don’t have a blog or website to use adsense ads and earn revenue , no need to build one. They shouldn't look like an Ad. People are negative to advertising. They search the internet for content not ads. Especially for Banners - they have a less of 0.5% response. Their days are over. Imagine if you have an Adsense ad looking like the typical Banner with different colors. It will not be profitable.

2) Text ads are better than image ads. Like before, people are more responsive to text than images. In a way it is considered as a part of the online document and is more clickable.

3) No Border ads. One of the best tricks is to erase the borders of Adsense ads and make them, again, having the same color with your website's background.

4) No other advertisements. The first reason is to be legitimate according to Google's Rules and the second more practical reason is that you do not want to distract your visitor's attention and go somewhere else without clicking your Adsense ads.

5) Placement. Even if you have the best Ad, people will not respond if they don't see it instantly. The best place to see the ad is the top of your web page and the next is aside your document's text. Visitors will click it more frequently since it will look like your text.

6) Traffic. Try to use legitimate ways of traffic. Some people use Google Adwords and other Pay-per-click search engines. The problem here is to search very carefully for the right niche and keywords in order to make your campaigns profitable. Other ways are link popularity techniques like link exchange directories, software or even mass blog submission techniques. Don't use link farms and classifieds for that, because the search engine's algorithms are extremely clever and they will ban your listings.

7) Do not rely on one website. Yes, you can make money with one website but try to make as more as possible.

8) Relevant content is King. Articles are one of the best tactics to create huge websites that will be crawled by search engine's robots. Don't forget search engines exist to provide relevant content at first. One excellent resource to automate your article directory procedure is http://www.articleequalizer.com .You can create an article database in minutes which otherwise is time consuming and it would take you a week!

9) Use site maps. Google's site maps visit your site and crawl it much sooner that any other submission process. More information is here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps

10) Relevant ads. It's one of the most important factors for Adsense success. If the internet user can't find a relevant ad in your page, he or she won't click the ad. Would you act differently? So it's critical to create relevant resource for your web page. In order to do that, you must do the following steps.

Do I Have To Pay Taxes On My Ad Revenue?

Taxes are a very complex issue, and there are many publishers earning anywhere from pennies to thousands of dollars a day. This site's goal is to gather, organize, and share information on how to legitimately minimize tax liability for publishers subject to U.S. income taxes. Imagine your receipts and bills for internet access or that new computer being worth hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars!

How? Google Adsense™ income is business income. Since you are getting paid via a 1099-MISC, which means Google is treating you as an independent contractor, the U.S. Government has decided that income is taxable. More importantly, Google will be reporting your income to the IRS as one of their expenses. Businesses only have to pay taxes on their profits, so listing expenses reduces the tax bill. Just like Google is reporting paying you as an expense, you need to be keeping track of every expense that you can. Just bought a new domain name? Save your receipt!

Thinking about retirement? More good news is that you can also possibly defer paying taxes on your income if you put the money into an appropriate retirement account.

There is also some bad news. You may be subject to self-employment tax, if you made more than $400 your 1099-MISC. The current focus is on individuals, and not corporations or LLCs. Information for other business types and countries may be added later.

Whenever possible, you will be redirected to the specific IRS documents that is applicable. Please check out the categories on the menu bar above.

Does this also apply to other income streams like Linkshare, Commission Junction, other affiliate marketing, Yahoo Publisher Network, Kanoodle, BlogAds, Adbrite, etc.?

Yes. Most legit companies will send you 1099s, but some smaller ones may need some nagging. Remember, if you earned less than $600 they don't have to send you anything. This leads to a smaller paper trail for the IRS to follow, but also remember that audit rates for people who file as a Sole Proprietorship (mentioned in the Tax Basics section), run about from 1-3%. Food for thought...

Increases AdSense Revenue 200% by filtering MFA sites.

This might not be something new to you, but it's definately a good news to those AdSense beginners trying to maximize the earnings.

Two weeks ago, I discovered a great site showing the MFA sites' url. I added the links to my Competitive Ad Filter since there was no url before. I check my AdSense revenue daily and found out that my earnings were increasing. Since the number of clicks were not increasing, then, I realize that by filtering MFA sites I can earn even more per click. I'm always amazed by how top MFA sites like best4sites[dot]net, all-free-info[dot]com, click-here-4-best[dot]info showing at top of my ads.

I started to check each and every AdSense links on my sites and filtered all the MFA sites. Of course, you can't click on your own AdSense links. However, you are allowed to right click on your own AdSense ad title to find out the destination url of the ads. And add them to the Competitive Ad Filter. I would also suggest you all to add tinyurl[dot]com and denmark[dot]com to your filter list since many MFA sites love to use these services to hide their urls.

To AdSense team: please increase the limit of URL of the Competitive Ad Filter. The current 200 urls limit is not enough since the MFA sites are increasing at a very fast pace (due to your kindness for allowing these no-content-but-only-adsense sites showing AdSense).

Google Adsense Go Video

-Google will now offer video advertising as an option to its Adwords advertisers to boost its revenues.

Google Inc. is now planning to launch a new service that will place video commercials on the hundreds of thousands of Web sites - Google Adsense publishers - where Google sells advertising. This step is the latest in Google's move to move beyond static text ads. The move will put Google squarely into competition with television networks as advertisers are more than willing to shell out for online commercials. That is because large advertisers have now come to realise that a large number of their target audience spends more time on the Web than anything else.

Designed to be a non-intrusive product, the videos Adsense ads will first appear as static ads in television-screen like boxes. The video starts rolling only when the consumer clicks on the screen unlike video ads that normally jump off pages and start on their own. Consumers will have the option to start or ignore an ad, but they will not be able to stop or pause, adjust the volume or click through to the advertiser's site. The duration of the commercials will be up to two minutes.

According to reports, Google will introduce the ads this week. Initially, the video ads will be available to Adwords advertisers in the US, Canada and Japan. Later, Google will roll them out in other territories. Google will host video ads on its own servers instead of making customers deal with a third-party supplier, unlike other video advertisers.

Google will not place video ads next to search results - on its own site or elsewhere, for now. It will distribute them to those sites which make use of Google's context-sensitive text and image ads to earn revenues - the Adsense publishers . Most of the companies that sell video ads place them as part as part of a stream of programming rather than on Web pages where users have to click to watch the video. That is largely because most advertisers do not think that consumers will be motivated enough to click on videos to watch it.

Google, however, seems to have other plans apart from pure advertising. According to reports, Google will also allow advertisers to use the system to test the impact of their commercials before they run them on television. That way advertisers will be able to figure out if their advertisements work or not.

Google wants to rope in small businesses for very targeted advertising. Then again, there are advertisers who will benefit most from video ads, such as movie studios and real estate agents who can showcase their products best using videos.

Unlike other sites, Google will not negotiate prices with individual advertisers. Rather, it will use its automated auction system in Adwords where there will be a single auction for graphical, text, and video ads. Advertisers will be able to bid a fixed fee to display the ad to 1,000 users (CPM video ads) or as a price for each time a user clicks on the ad to visit their site (CPC video ads). Advertisers will have to bid more than the combined cost of two or four text ads that can be placed on the screen in the same area that the video ad will occupy.

Advertisers will be able to place ads on sites they choose or on pages related to specific keywords. The prices that advertisers pay to display their video ads will work out to less than $20 than what other sites that offer video ads charge.

Google is looking at video ads to provide a fillip to sales growth on AdSense. Many advertisers feel that returns on buying AdSense text ads is lower. Google is looking at diversifying revenues by using video ads. Google also made a foray into radio advertising recently by buying DMark Broadcasting, a company that sells radio advertising.

The online video advertising market is worth over $225 million and is expected to triple by next year. As of now Yahoo! and Microsoft sell video ads on their sites. Recently, AOL acquired Lighteningcast, a company that places video ads on nearly 150 sites.

Blogging for Money

Working life is not a bed or roses, waking up early in the morning and leaving late at night. It doesn’t matter if no one drop any comments or someone uses harsh words banging you, the ability to maintain the momentum and chunk out interesting articles is the key to success. Most blogs takes an average of 6 months to built up the much needed momentum to leap frog one to the other stage.

2) Topics - Choosing the right topic is like choosing the right partner, if you choose the wrong topic, especially the one that you’ve got no interest in, chances are you’ll soon end up in a crossroad. I’ve come across bloggers that create blogs that target high paying keywords such as :

mesothelioma lawyers

what is mesothelioma

peritoneal mesothelioma

consolidate loans

refinancing mortgage

tax attorney

mesothelioma

car accident lawyer

ameriquest mortgage

mortgage refinance

These are some of the highest paying keywords in Google Adwords or any other contextual advertising program, and certain bloggers that are in for the money tend to blog about such topics not knowing what it is all about. Sure, you can plagarize these articles from Wikipedia but for how long? You’ll get caught one day for stealing.

The best topic would be something of your interest, be it music or art that has a niche market in the digital world. If you’re passionate about the topic you are blogging, chances are you will never run out of ideas, remember - maintain the momentum is the key to success.

3) Blogging Platform - There are a few blogging platform to choose from, the current market leaders are Blogger, Wordpress and MoveableType. I would say that these three platform has the lion share in the blogging world. All have their plus and minus points. A brief guide:

Blogger

- free, unlimited bandwidth

- 300MB hosting space

- no unique domain name (e.g. your-name.blogspot.com)

- no plugins, limited features

Wordpress

- free, host in your own server

- unique domain name (e.g. www.your-name.com)

- Tons of plugins, full of features

MoveableType

- Commerical ware

- unique domain name (e.g. www.your-name.com)

- Lots of Plugins

- Central comment center to control spam

Depending on your budget, if you’ve got the money and the desire to blog, then by all means get a paid hosting and host your own blog. The plus point in having your own domain name and hosting server is the ability to get a better ranking in Google Search Engine. Most search engine tend to shy away from free hosting server, even Google rank blogs from their own Blogger.com below others that has their own unique names.

If you are not sure about getting your own paid hosting plans, I would recommend you to try out this reliable hosting company 3iX, its a Singapore based hosting company and you get a 14 day trial. Unlike GoDaddy, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to install Wordpress, 3iX offers everything with a single click, yup, you can install wordpress with a single click.

4) Diversity of opportunities - Diversifing is the key to success, bloggers that seek a steady flow of income should have multiple blogs that spread accross different server and topics so as not to put all their eggs in one basket. Multiple blogs doesn’t mean one has to stick to a single contextual advertising company, recent years have withness the addition of a variety of viable advertising options for bloggers. Unlike the yer before 2005, adsense and blogads and a handfull of other are the only option available.

5) Discipline - This is a very important key element is becoming a full time blogger. To be able to make money out of blogging, one must be consistent, which means a series of discipline attitude. Blogging is not as easy as what it seems, and pusing the “publish” button doesn’t mean you’ll get the amount of audience that targeted. A good knowledge of computer/html/search engine tweak and many more is the key to success. You got to have a willing mind, the passion of learn and the ability to unlearn. Sometimes it takes more than a year for a blog to be successful, remember that if you kept on blogging, eventually you’ll succeed.

This Post Source From:-www.geckoandfly.com

What's AdSense?

Google AdSense is the program that can give you advertising revenue from each page on your website—with a minimal investment in time and no additional resources.

AdSense delivers relevant text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site and your site content. And when you add a Google search box to your site, AdSense delivers relevant text ads that are targeted to the Google search results pages generated by your visitors’ search request.

Apply to Adsense now and

Your site's full revenue.

Google AdSense is a fast and easy way for website publishers of all sizes to display relevant Google ads on their website's content pages and earn money. Because the ads are related to what your visitors are looking for on your site — or matched to the characteristics and interests of the visitors your content attracts — you'll finally have a way to both monetize and enhance your content pages.

It's also a way for website publishers to provide Google web and site search to their visitors, and to earn money by displaying Google ads on the search results pages.

AdSense's advantages

AdSense is simple to join.

It's easy to paste a bit of code into your pages.

It's free to join.

You don't have to spend time finding advertisers.

Google provides well written, highly relevant ads - chosen to closely match the content on your pages.

You don't have to waste time choosing different ads for different pages.

You don't have to mess around with different code for various affiliate programs.

You're free to concentrate on providing good content and Google does the work of finding the best ads for your pages from 100,000 AdWords advertisers.

It's suitable for beginners or marketing veterans.

AdSense provides simple, easy-to-understand stats.

If you have affiliate links(like Forex Affiliate) on your site, you ARE allowed to add AdSense ads. However, with your affiliate links, you must not mimic the look and feel of the Google ads.

You can filter up to 200 URLs, so you can block ads for sites that don't meet your standards. You can also block strong competitors.

Inevitably, AdSense is competing strongly for space on web sites with all other revenue sharing opportunities.

If you own a small web site you can plug a bit of AdSense code into your site and almost instantly relevant text ads that are likely to appeal to your visitors will appear on your pages.

If you own several sites, you need apply only once. This makes AdSense much simpler than joining a bunch of affiliate programs.

As you can see, I'm really keen on this revenue sharing service. --> MegaForumUp.com

Google Adsense Calculation

Here's how Google calculate the earning for your GA Account.
I hope this could be useful for y'all. It's my tipstrick for calculating my earnings :

Clickthrough rate (CTR) is the number of clicks an ad unit receives divided by the number of times the ad unit is shown (impressions).

Effective CPM (eCPM) is cost per 1000 impressions. From a publisher's perspective, CPM is a useful way to compare revenue across different channels and advertising programs. It is calculated by dividing total earnings by the number of impressions in thousands.

Impression is the number of times an ad is displayed on Google or on sites or products in Google's ad network. A page impression is counted each time an ad unit is displayed on a publisher's site. Page impressions are used when calculating reports for Adsense publishers, rather than ad impressions

Earnings is total money that would be given by Google Adsense for publishers who participate in their affiliate programs.

Earnings Per Click (EPC) actually is average cost per click that would be given to publishers depends on the sum of the click, page impressions and advertiser's bid. However, it's still be a Google Adsense Secret.

Calculation :

CTR = (Clicks / Impressions) * 100

EPC = Earnings Per Click

eCPM = (Earnings / Impressions) * 1000
eCPM = CTR * EPC * 10

Earnings = eCPM * Impressions / 1000
Earnings = CTR * EPC * Impressions / 100

Eg.: Today you've got 9 clicks for 2017 impressions. (Just for sample, the EPC was 0.04)

CTR = (9 / 2017) * 100 --> 0.4462 --> 0.45

eCPM = 0.4462 * 0.04 * 10 --> 0.17848 --> 0.18
eCPM = (0.3599941 / 2017) * 1000 --> 0.17848 --> 0.18

Earnings = 0.17848 * 2017 / 1000 --> 0.3599941 --> 0.36
Earnings = 0.4462 * 0.04 * 2017 / 100 --> 0.3599941 --> 0.36

How do I install/uninstall the preview tool?

To install:
1. Right-click the link below and select Save Target As... Save the registry file (.reg) to your desktop.

AdSense Preview Tool

2. Double-click the file from your desktop. From the menu that appears, select Google AdSense Preview Tool . The preview tool will open in a new window, and will display a sample set of ads for that page.
The Choose Options menu lets you select different ad formats and geo-targeted locations for the ads displayed within the preview tool.

The Choose Colors menu allows you to preview new colors. You can view your selections within the preview tool, or click Preview to temporarily apply the color selections to any existing standard ad unit on the current web page. These changes are only intended to give you a preview of your selections - you will need to update your ad code with the new color palette to make permanent changes to your page.

Click on any ad that appears within the preview tool to visit the advertiser's site. Advertisers will not be charged for clicks on these ads, nor will impressions be counted. Likewise, you won't receive any earnings for clicks from within the preview tool. You can click on these ads without generating invalid clicks on your account.

Use the checkboxes next to each ad and click the Show Selected URLs link to show the URLs in a new window. You can then easily copy and paste the URLs into your account's competitive ad filter list to block any undesired ads.

What is the Google AdSense preview tool?

The Google AdSense preview tool is an addition to the right-click menu for Windows Internet Explorer 6.x, allowing you to preview the ads that may show on any web page. With just a few clicks, you can see what ads may appear on your new web pages, or make an educated decision on whether to add AdSense to your existing site pages.

Other features include:

Check the destination of ads that are on your page : ads displayed in the preview tool are in a test state, so you don't have to worry about accidentally clicking on an ad. Clicks and impressions are not counted against the ads that display within the preview tool.

View sample ad formats and colors : create previews of formats and color combinations within the preview tool. Choose from 2 different preview formats, plus a 12 ad spread that allows you to view more available ads at once.

Preview colors on your page : the 'Preview' feature of the Color Options menu allows you to see what new color combinations would look like on existing AdSense standard ad units, right on the page. By simply selecting new border, background, or text colors from the preview tool, and clicking "Preview," the new colors will be temporarily applied to the standard ad unit currently on your page.

Geo-targeted locations : select the geo-targeted location from which to view ads, allowing you to see what users in Canada will see, even if you live in Japan.

How do I add sites to my filter list?

You can add up to 200 sites to your filter list. Readers absorb information in thought units (that is, several words at a time). The wider format lets them comfortably read more text at a glance without having to skip a line and return to the left margin every few words as they would be forced to do with a narrower ad. The wider ad format also lessens the likelihood of readers leaving the ad unit altogether.

Since these formats allow users to read more text without having to skip a line every few words, users' eyes have less chance to leave the ad unit altogether. If positioned well, these ad formats can increase your earnings. The formats we've found to be the most effective are the 336x280 large rectangle, the 300x250 inline rectangle, and the 160x600 wide skyscraper. Keep in mind that while these ad formats typically perform well, you should use the format that best complements your pages.

Tip for making the most of a little ad space: Try one of our streamlined link unit formats, shown below, or a referral unit. These formats are lean, mean, and versatile enough to fit in locations normal ads don't.

Blogtimize - Optimize the ads on your blog

When working with a blog, you're facing some interesting ad implementation challenges: a predetermined page format, highly targeted content, and regular visitors, among other things. To make the most of your readership and content, here are a few suggestions:

Blend ads into your blog

To increase the likelihood that your readers will see and click on your ads, blend your ad units into the background of your blog. Choose a bold color for the ad title to help draw attention to your ads, then make sure that the background and borders of your ads are the same color as the background of the area where the ad is placed.

Experiment with multiple ad formats and locations

In general, wider ad formats tend to be more reader-friendly. Placing an ad unit after the first post will likely catch your readers' attention. Take a look at our sample implementations to get some ideas. Also, consider placing a Skyscraper (120x600) or vertical link unit on the right side of your blog. If you're using Blogger, you can find instructions on placing AdSense code in your blog's sidebar.

Making AdSense fit your forum site

When you run a forum site, ad placement and formats are key to designing ads that will be successful but not intrusive to your regular users.

Placement: Display your ad units where repeat users will notice them

Because forum regulars tend to skip the header and go straight to the meat of the thread, placing your ad unit above or below the first post can be more effective than ads next to the logo.

Place a leaderboard immediately after the last post. This provides users who make it to the end of a thread with a 'next step' when the content ends. Try to avoid placing it after the footer, though, as your readers will likely move to the next thread without seeing the ad.

Formats: Adapting your design for multiple ad units and limited space.

Using multiple ad units, you can use a variety of formats to fill ad space throughout your site. Placing a skyscraper above the fold on the left side of your forum seems to produce slightly better performance than other positioning. However, when using multiple ad units throughout the page our horizontal bias still favors the leaderboard. Our heat map provides more details.

Use horizontal link units, which are small enough to fit near the top of your forum just below the header. For the regular forum visitor, link units offer a wider range of relevant topics to browse.

However you choose to implement your ads, keep in mind that forums are highly interactive sites with regular users. Be sure to blend the ads nicely, so they don't appear overly intrusive - but don't blend them so well they mislead your users! Every forum site is different and you know your community best, so as always use your own judgment to create the most positive experience for your users.

Tip for making the most of revenue opportunities: Like most sites, forums can benefit from opting in to image ads. Supporting image ads increases the pool of ads - particularly cost-per-thousand-impression (CPM) ads - bidding to display on your site. Since forums tend to have lower clickthrough rates than other types of sites, CPM ads can improve revenue without the need for clicks. Keep in mind, however, that CPM ads come in both text and image formats.

Examples of placements Ads on a page

Inline Rectangle Ad (300 x 250): Examples of placements on a page

Ad at the top

Ad at the top

----------------

Wide Skyscraper Ad (160x600): Examples of placements on a page
Ad on the left
<img style="display:block; AdSense is Google's content-targeted advertising program. This means that you do not select keywords or categories for your ads. Instead, Google's servers determine what your posts are about and display the most relevant ads to your readers. So, if you blog about baseball, there might be ads for Major League Baseball memorabilia next to your post. If you blog about painting, there might be ads for art supplies.

Putting AdSense on Your Blog

This integration between AdSense and Blogger is intended to make it easier for you to get up and running with AdSense on your blog. To place AdSense on your blog quickly and easily, find your way into and Apply to Adsense now and You'll be able to choose a size for your ads and then customize how they'll look on your blog. To take full advantage of other AdSense options and settings, you can sign in to the AdSense site and have a look around. That's where you can see how much money your ads are earning and all that good stuff.

Cost Per Impression

Cost Per Impression is a phrase often used in online advertising and marketing related to web traffic. It is used for measuring the worth and cost of a specific e-marketing campaign. This technique is applied with web banners, text links, e-mail spam, and opt-in e-mail advertising. (Although opt-in e-mail advertising is more commonly charged on a CPA basis.)?

The Cost Per Impression is often measured using the CPM (Cost Per Mille) metric. (A CPM is the cost of one thousand (1,000) impressions.)

CPM is considered the optimal form of selling online advertising from the publisher's point of view. A publisher gets paid for each ad that is shown.

This type of advertising arrangement closely resembles Television and Print Advertising Methods for speculating the cost of an Advertisement. Often, industry agreed approximates are used. With Television the Nielsen Ratings are used and Print is based on the circulation a publication has.

For Online Advertising, the numbers of views can be a lot more precise. When a user requests a Web Pages, the originating server creates a log entry. Also, a third party tracker can be placed in the web page which will verify how many accesses that page had.

CPM and/or Flat rate advertising deals are preferred by the Publisher/Webmaster because they will get paid regardless of any action taken.

For Advertisers a Performance Based system is preferred. There are two methods for Paying for Performance: 1) CPA - Cost per Action/Acquisition and 2) CPC - Cost per Click Through.

Today, it is very common for large publishers to charge for most of their advertising inventory on a CPM or CPT basis.

A related term, eCPM or effective Cost Per Mille, is used to measure the effectiveness of advertising inventory sold (by the publisher) via a CPC, CPA, or CPT basis.

Cost Per Mille

The initialization CPM comes from print world (and is a latin word), and stands for Cost Per Mille in the US or, more correctly, in the UK Cost Per M, with M representing the Roman numeral for thousand. When online advertising started gaining momentum, those in the industry used this term (rather than something like CPI) as a metric for describing the Cost Per Impression largely because advertisers were already familiar with the term CPM.

It is important to remember that when someone says something like, "our CPM is $5". That this means that the Cost Per Impression is $0.005 -- half a cent.

The Ten Commandments to avoid being terminated from the adsense program

Click Fraud: The Ten Commandments to avoid being terminated from the adsense program.

Thou shall not click on thy own ads

Thou shall use adsense as the primary advertiser, Thou shall not use adsense as an alternate advertiser.

Thou are solely responsible for thy Site(s), content and compliance with the adsense program policies.

Thou shall not edit, modify, filter or change the order of the information contained in any Ad

Thou shall not frame, minimize, remove or otherwise inhibit the full and complete display of any Web page accessed by an end user after clicking on any part of an Ad

Thou shall not redirect an end user away from any Advertiser Page, Search Results Page, or Referral Page

Thou shall not display any Ad(s) on any page that contains any pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content

Thou shall not use publish adsense on any software application or other means other than Your Site(s)

Thou shall not “crawl”, “spider”, index or in any non-transitory manner store or cache information obtained from any Ads

Thou shall act in any way that violates any Program Policies posted on the Google Web Site

Alternate Ads: Well, sometimes, google may show public service ads on pages that have not been spidered, or on pages where the targetted ads do not match anything for what-so-ever reason. Well, you do not generate any revenue from public service ads at all. So do signup for some other ad publishing service like yahoo. Create a html pahe on your server with yahoo ads in various formats and use the URL’s of the relevant format to serve alternate advertisements when google cannot target any ads to your site. Google allows you to target alternate ads using the attribute : “google_alternate_ad_url”. So do use it whenever you can. But do remember to use the same ad size format as the google ad.

6 Steps to Bigger AdSense Profits

I am tweaking my site to achieve the right mix of content, design, and commercialism.

What is the right mix?

That depends on you.

You have to decide whether you are thinking diary or book. I think of my site as a book and each post as a chapter. This chapter is about profitability.

Here are six steps to greater profits. Some of these steps I have incorporated into may site, some I have not. As my site grows and develops many more changes will develop.

The Six Steps
1. Remove the outline boxes from your ads. It sets them apart and cuts down on the flow.
2. Match the background color of the ad to that of your site. I gives the ad more of a customized look.
3. Match the color of the ad text to the color of the text on your site. Again, it adds to the continuity of the site.
4. Incorporate the ad into (or between) some of the lines of text in your article. Your visitor is more likely to click through if they do not have to scroll around to get to the link.
5. To get relevant ads, try to use the key words in the title of your article and intersperse them through the first couple of paragraphs.
6. Be very careful before adding the big commercial ads to your site. Unless you are talking specifically about products they offer, you won't make much profit there. As you can see, I am slowly removing that type of ad from my site, starting with the least profitable first.

Do you have specific strategies that are working for you?

http://www.google.com/reader/shared/13093710603906064887

Most Popular Key Search Words

I wondered why certain sites get so many hits and others with similar content don't do as well. I found out that many sites go to great pains to survey the search engines to find out what the most popular search words are. They then embed those words into their own pages.

Now, if your site is related to those topics, I can see how this might be beneficial. However, if the listing is simply a gratuitous list, I don't see people hanging around long enough to read your content or click through to your site specific ads.

However, many of the "how to" articles swear by the revenues you may create with this technique.

So, lets test the theory. I have a good idea of how many hits I get per day. I will ad a list of the popular searched words and see what the increase, if any is.

It should be noted I took out one or two that I found personally offensive.

These are all from reystar.com

• Adventure• Advertising• Airline Tickets• AmericanSingles• Antivirus• Auction• Audio• Auto• Baby Names• Bankruptcy• Baseball• Beauty• Betting• Books• Britney pears
• Bulk Email• Business• Car Insurance• Card Games• Career• Casino• Cell Phones• Charity• Chat• Chocolate• Christian Dating• Classifieds• Computers• Cooking• Cosmetics• Credit• Credit Cards• Dating• Debt• Dictionary• Dieting• Domain Registration• Downloads• Dragonball• Dreammates• Driving Directions• Dvd• Ebay• Education • Electronics• Employment• Exercise• Family• Finance• Fitness• Flowers
• Free Dating• Free Dating Services• Free Email• Free Online Dating• Free People Search• Free Ringtones• Free Stuff• Free Web Hosting• Fun & Games• Furniture• Gambling • Games• Gardening• Gifts• Golf• Google• Greetings• Health• Hiking• Home Business• Home Design• Home Loans• Horoscopes• Hotels• Hotmail• Incorporate• Ink Cartridges• Insurance• Internet Biz• Internet Jokes• Investing• Java• Jennifer Lopez
• Jewelry• Jobs• Jokes• Kareoke • Laptops• Las Vegas• Law• Leasing• Legal• Loans
• Long Distance• Lottery• Lyrics• Maps• Marketing• Massage• Money• Morpheus• Mortgage Calculator• Movies• Moving• MP3• Music• NBA• Networking• News• Newsletters
• Nutrition• Online Dating• Personals• Pets• Photography• Photos• Pictures• Real Estate• Recreation• Relationships• Resume• Retirement• Search Engine• Security
• Shopping• Ski• Skin Care• Small Business • Software• Song Lyrics • Spam
• Sports• Sportsbook• Stocks• Submit URL• Sunglasses• Tattoo Designs• Taxes• The Bible• Tickets• Toner• Toys• Trademarks• Training• Travel• T-shirts• TV• Used Cars• Vacation• Visa• Vitamins• Voice Mail• Watches• Water• Weather• Web Design• Web Hosting• Web Promotion• Web Sites• Web Templates• Webmasters• Wedding• Weight Loss
• White Pages• Wholesale• Wine• Wireless• Work At Home• Yellow Pages
It may also be interesting to make a list of the highest paying ad words and see what the impact of posting those on a site would be.

Most Popular Key Search Words, Part 2

In following the theme of my previous article these are the top ten searches as posted by News About Net.

Here are the recent TOP 10 KEYWORDS / SEARCH TOPICS taken from a total of 7,824,628 entries. A free and advanced tool for finding the most prominent keywords in a page can be found here: SEO Density Analyzer. Copy the most important keywords to a text file ([web page name]-Google AdSense-keywords.txt).

Google AdSense Tip #2: Improve your keywords
Get keyword suggestions from Overture Search Inventory and from Google AdWords Sandbox. Get new keywords that can help you improve your ad relevance. Enter the keywords from [web page name]-Google AdSense-keywords.txt and save the suggestions to [web page name]-Google AdSense-suggestions.txt.

Google AdSense Tip #3: Keep your website focused on a theme
Use the keyword suggestions to enhance your web pages and to build theme-based content. And also try to get your keywords into the anchor text of your incoming links as much as possible. Don't forget that Google Google AdSense is keyword-targeted advertising: Google Google AdSense bases its advert topics on your websites content, this means that content-rich websites of a popular topic should attract a large amount of ads.

Google AdSense Tip #4: Write a new page every day
One of the best tips is to add a new page to your web site every day. The more content you have, the more visitors you will get. Put an Google AdSense unit on each and every content page of your site. But where? You will find more about that from the next Google AdSense tips.

Google AdSense Tip #5: Choose the right Google AdSense format
Wider formats are successful because the ads are compact, easy to read and are complementary to the content. The top three Google AdSense formats are:

336x280 large rectangle

300x250 medium rectangle

160x600 wide skyscraper

Another successful format is the 468x15 horizontal ad links, that can be placed under your navigation bar.

Google AdSense Tip #6: Color tips
When creating your Google Google AdSense ads it is recommended to use the color scheme and style of your website so that the ads blend in well. Ads without background color and borders perfom better than ads within borders with background color.

Create a custom Google AdSense palette:

border color = background color of your web site

background color = background color of your web site

link color = blue, color of your links

url color = black, #999999

text color = black, #333333, color of your main content

You can also rotate your color palette: select multiple color palettes that blend with your site to create variety.

Google AdSense Tip #7: Position tips
Visitors tend to look at the big headlines to see if your page is worth reading. If you get them interested, they will read the text and look for your navigation links.

Place the Google AdSense ads in a prominent place around the top/left part of your page or under your headlines, where your visitors are most likely to look at.

If you have an article page with a long body of text, the bottom of that article is a good place for Google AdSense ads because your visitors read the text and then they want more resources.

Google AdSense Tip #8: Increase the number of ads
If you have a lot of text on a page, use multiple Google AdSense units. You can use up to three Google AdSense units on a page, two Google AdSense search boxes and one unit of ad links.

Link units allow the user to refine what they're interested in. So if they may not be interested in specific ads on your page, they might be interested in a particular topic, and by clicking on a link unit and a link in the link unit, they'll be able to specify that they're interested in that specific topic and get a lot more options and variety on the ads that might appear.

Google AdSense for Search allows visitors to search Google.com or your sites (up to 3 domains). You earn money whenever they click on the ads that come up on the search results. If you click the Open search results in a new browser window

Google AdSense Tip #9: Preview Google ads
You can find out what ads will be served by Google Google AdSense if you install Google Google AdSense Preview Tool, a very simple tool available only for Internet Explorer 6.0. Click to advertiser sites without generating invalid clicks, and easily add their URLs to your URL filter list. Because Google AdSense uses geo-targeting, Google serves different ads for other countries. Instead of faking your IP or travelling abroad to test your ads, use this Google AdSense tool to see what ads see your visitors from France, Germany or other countries.

It's possible there are no Google Google AdSense adverts available for your webpage. Hide Public Service Ads, using alternate colors or images. Make sure you include the image in a simple html file as a link (use target="_top"). The image size should be the same as the dimension of Google AdSense units. In the alternate url box, enter the absolute url of the html file.

Read more about alternate ads.

Google AdSense Tip #10: What not to do
Don't click your own ads

Don't ask others to click on your Google ads

Don't manually change Google AdSense code

Don't place Google ads on sites that include prohibited content (e.g.: adult sites)

Don't employ cloaking, hidden text or farm links

Don't use Google AdSense ads on the same page with similar ads (e.g.: Yahoo Publisher Network)

Google AdSense Tip #11: Show images above or next to your ads
Placing images above Google AdSense ads is not necessarily prohibited by program policies. However, depending on the method of implementation this could be considered encouraging users to click on ads. So you should include a border line between the ads and the images. Don't show specific products in your images, in order not to mislead the visitors. Just use generic images that will increase the visibility of your ads.

Google AdSense Tip #12: Use section targeting
Use section targeting to emphasize some content in your page. On your site, place this code where you want to emphasize.

Content you want to emphasize.

If you want some content to be ignored, use

Google AdSense Tip #13: Alternate the colors of your ads
Google AdSense allows you to have up to 4 color variations for each variable for which you can specify color. You should do that if you put Google AdSense ads on pages that receive many impressions from the same visitors (for example forums) to reduce ad blindness. For example:

google_color_border = ["628098","628098","000000","000000"];

google_color_link = ["000000","BBB90C","BBB90C","628098"];

google_color_url = ["000000","628098","000000","000000"];

google_color_text = ["628098","628098","000000","000000"];

Great for overcoming ad blindness.

Google AdSense Tip #14: Your Google ads should be visible
Make sure your text ads are visible to the surfers in all screen formats. If you put the ads in a table give sufficient breathing room, i.e. proper cell padding and cell spacing to make the ads stand out from the rest of your content.

Google AdSense Tip #15: Use Google AdSense channels
You can categorize the content of your website into channels and then track your performance. This way you can experiment with different types of ads and see which is performing the best.
